Wiring Connections

Trunk Release Output

: Connect to the

vehicle negative (-) trunk release relay or

other low current device. NEVER connect

directly to a motor or high current device

without a relay.

12V Constant Power Input

: Remove the

inline fuse before connecting to a wire

that has (+) 12V at all times. Reinstall the

inline fuse when wiring connections are

complete.

Siren Output

: Connect to the (+) wire on

the siren.

+12V Ignition Input

: Connect to a wire

that has (+) 12V while the key is in the

run and crank positions.

Chassis Ground Input

: Connect to a

scraped (bare) metal surface in the driver

kick panel. NEVER connect to dash

brackets or to a factory ground.

Door Trigger Input

Green

: Connect to a wire that rests at (+)

12V when all doors are closed and (-)

ground when any door is opened.

OR

Violet

: Connect to a wire that rests at

ground when all doors are closed and

(+) 12V when any door is opened.

Instant Trigger Input

: Connect to a wire

in the vehicle that goes to ground when

opened (typically the trunk) or to an op-

tional Directed single zone sensor.

Domelight Supervision Output (pin #30

of onboard relay)

: Connect to a wire that

turns on the domelight to illuminate the

vehicle interior when disarming and turn-

ing off the ignition

Aux 1 Output

: Connect to an auxiliary

convenience or expansion option. NEV-

ER connect directly to a motor or high cur-

rent device without a relay.

(+ or -) Light Flash Output

: Connect to

the vehicle parking light wire. Select the

correct polarity with the output or vehicle

damage may occur.

Ground When Armed Output

: Connect

to a starter interrupt relay or an accessory

that requires a ground to activate when

the system is armed.

Important

: NEVER connect 200mA low current outputs

directly to a motor or high current device WITHOUT

a relay,

OEM Alarm Disarm

: Connect to the

factory alarm disarm wire in the ve-

hicle (if applicable). NEVER connect

directly to a motor or high current de-

vice without a relay.

Horn Output

: Connect to the vehicles

(-) horn honk relay wire.

Aux 2 Output

: Connect to an auxilia-

ry convenience or expansion option.

NEVER connect directly to a motor or

high current device without a relay.

Aux 3 Output

: Connect to an auxilia-

ry convenience or expansion option.

NEVER connect directly to a motor or

high current device without a relay.

Aux 4 Output

: Connect to an auxilia-

ry convenience or expansion option.

NEVER connect directly to a motor or

high current device without a relay.

Retained Acc Output

: Connect to a

relay that controls the accessory cir-

cuit in the vehicle.

Hood Trigger Input

: Connect to a

wire that goes to ground when the

hood is opened.

2nd Unlock Output

: Connect to a

wire (or relay assembly) that unlocks

all doors when installing two stage

door unlocking.

(87A) Normally Closed

: To car side of

starter wire if programmed as a Nor-

mally Closed circuit (factory default).

(87) Normally Open

: To car side of

starter wire if programmed as a Nor-

mally Open circuit.

indicates the menu number. 1 chirp indicates menu 1, 2 chirps - menu 2, and

3 chirps for menu 3.

4.  When the desired menu chirps are heard,

release

 the Valet switch.

5.

Select

 a Feature.

Press

 and

release

the Valet switch the number of times cor-

responding to the feature you wish to change. Then

time to select the features.

6.

Program

the Feature. While holding the Valet switch, you can program the

feature using the remote control.

To change the desired options press;

AUX

 = one chirp setting, while

AUX

 = two,

three or higher chirps setting.

Once a feature is programmed:

•

Other features can be programmed within the same menu

•

Another menu can be selected

•

The learn routine can be exited if programming is complete

To access another feature in the same menu:

Bitwriters with a date code of 6a or older require an IC
upgrade (p/n 998M). Some bitwriters with a date code
of 6B do not require the IC upgrade, refer to tech tip #
1112 for more information.

The Bitwriter® (p/n 998U)
requires chip version

2.4

 or

newer to program this unit.

Note

: For more door lock wiring information, see tech tip #1041 at: www.directechs.com (authorized users only).

Note

: The sensor ground outputs from the system

are only active when the system is armed.
