Chapter 8: Equipment configuration
Slot — Select the slot corresponding to the module on which the brooder is connected from the
drop down list
Min Cap. BTU/h — Enter the estimated minimum heat capacity output of the brooder output. Dis-
played only when modulated brooders are selected. Can be edited if custom brooders are selected
Max Cap. BTU/h — Enter the estimated maximum heat capacity of the brooder output. Displayed
only when modulated brooders are selected. Can be edited if custom brooders are selected
Min Amps — Corresponds to the minimum value of the current draw of brooders. Can be edited if
custom brooders are selected
Max Amps — Corresponds to the maximum value of the current draw of brooders. Can be edited if
custom brooders are selected
V Min — Corresponds to the minimum value of the control signal to the modulated brooders. Dis-
played only when modulated brooders are selected. Can be edited if custom brooders are selected
V Max — Corresponds to the maximum value of the control signal to the modulated brooders. Dis-
played only when modulated brooders are selected. Can be edited if custom brooders are selected
# of units — Enter the number of brooders connected to the output. Capacities and amps adjust
accordingly
Configuring a stir fan
1. Press on Stir Fans in the list of equipment on the left hand side of the screen and then press on the
icon.
2. Enter the name of your choice or leave the default name.
NOTE: If the name chosen is too long, it is truncated on the tile.
3. Set the following parameters:
Brand — Select Custom . There are no programmed stir fans in the controller
Model — Select the model from the drop down list
Supply — Select the power supply from the drop down list
Enclosure — Based on the wiring diagram left by the installer, select the enclosure where the pit
fan is connected
Slot — Select the slot (or module) on which the fans are connected from the drop down list
Output — Select the output on which the fans are connected from the drop down list
Motor curve — Select a motor curve from the drop down list if it differs from the suggested motor
curve. This field is only displayed when a variable stir fan is selected
# of units — Enter the number of fans connected to the output selected. The CFM, minimum and
maximum amperages are modified automatically according to the number of units
Diameter — Enter the stir fan’s diameter. This field is populated automatically, and can’t be edited
when a brand and model was chosen from the drop down list
CFM — Enter the stir fan’s CFM. This field is populated automatically, and can’t be edited when a
brand and model was chosen from the drop down list
Min. Amp — Enter the minimum amperage if it differs from the proposed value
