Chapter 12: Ventilation operation
Manual changes
Changing the minimum ventilation base, either by changing the set point, by having a curve changing the
set point, or by applying a temporary correction might induces a minimum ventilation stage shift. When a
stage can no longer meet minimum ventilation requirements, its start/stop/max temperatures disappear to
indicate that stage can no longer be used. Minimum allowed stage is selected on a CFM basis. The fol-
lowing are changes that can be made and how they affect other parameters:
• Changes in the Natural offset changes the following Natural and Tunnel stages
• Changing the Tunnel offset changes all Tunnel stages
• Changing the Power bandwidth compresses or expands the power stages. The minimum total
power bandwidth is 0.5°F per stage
• Changing the Natural bandwidth is straightforward, however the Natural inlets opening must be
recalculated
• Changing Tunnel bandwidth is similar to changing Power bandwidth but it affects only the Tunnel
stages
• Changing Power bandwidth and minimum ventilation base can affect start/stop/temperatures simul-
taneously. The bandwidth becomes applied to a different number of stages.
Inlet tile information
All the information concerning inlets can be accessed through the inlet tile in a house/barn where inlets
are configured.
There are four types of inlets and only three lines on the tile. Simultaneous use of all four types of inlets is
not allowed in automatic mode; the priority of display is as follows:
• Inlets currently in use (opening is not 0%)
• Tunnel inlets
• Natural inlets
• Sidewall inlets
• Ceiling inlets
General settings for all types of inlets
The following information is displayed when you press on the inlet tile:
Field

perature, temperature set point, and current age of ani-
mals in the house/barn
