Main Menu Application Controls
Standby
This option turns off the video display but leaves the scheduler portion of the application run-
ning in the background.
When Standby is selected:
The video display portion of the Digital VCR will stop
There is no disk activity
The PC display is reset to its default desktop size
The Digital VCR icon appears in the Task Bar
When in Standby, the Digital VCR will automatically wake up to record any programs that have
been added to the recording schedule. Recording is done in the background.
To enter Standby mode, press the

button on the remote control and choose

from the list. Or, hold the

button down for about four seconds. The application
will close, placing an icon in the Task Bar on the desktop.
To wake up from Standby mode, press the

button on the remote control. You can
also enter/exit Standby mode from the Task Bar by clicking on the Digital VCR icon found
there. A menu will pop out with selections for Standby/Wake Up and Quit.
Quit
Choosing

will exit the Digital VCR application. Exiting the application is different than
placing it in Standby mode.

. Quit the application
rather than place it in Standby when you want to use your PC for graphics and audio-intensive
activities, such as playing video games.
If recordings are scheduled, a warning dialog will appear as a reminder that recordings will
not
take place while the application is shut down. In the dialog box, click

to quit, or

to
return to Digital VCR.
