ASSEMBLY

SPEED SELECT LEVER ASSEMBLY

1. Cut plastic tie (A

A, Figure 7) securing speed select lever assembly (B

to the shifter bracket (C

C).

2. Remove locknut (A

A, Figure 8), washer (B

B), spring (C

C), and bolt (D

D).

3. Position speed selector lever assembly as shown in Figure 9.

4. Reinstall bolt (D

D, Figure 8), spring (C

C), washer (B

B), and locknut (A

A).

5. Tighten locknut until 1/8 to 3/16 inch of the bolt threads protrude past

the locknut.

6. Thread the 3/8-16” hex jam nut (EE) onto the lever (FF) until the nut

reaches the end of the thread.

7. Thread the plastic knob (G

G) as far as possible and ensure that the knob

points forward.

8. Tighten the 3/8-16” hex jam nut against the knob securely.

9. Move shifter through all speeds to ensure proper tension of the spring.

If shifter lever sticks in any of the notches, loosen locknut 1/2 turn at a
time until shifter lever moves more freely.

INSTALL THE DEFLECTOR CONTROL KNOB

1. Assemble the deflector control knob (A

A, Figure 10) onto the deflector

control lever (B

B) until snug against the nut (C

C).

2. Make sure lip on the deflector control knob is pointed toward the

engine.

3. Tighten the nut against the bottom of the deflector control knob.
