Introduction
The IPC-8000 is an IP based node utilizing inputs, and outputs. The IPC-8000 sends and
receives IP streamed audio to end nodes and provides inputs, outputs, and serial RS-232
connections to external devices. Additionally, the IPC-8000 has the ability to interface with
the (optional) RADIO-900M to enable wireless IP functionality within the network.
It is recommended that an (optional) UPS-901 be connected to the IPC-8000 to provide
battery backup during an AC power failure for all applications except the ACU-8411
configuration.
4.
Requirements
IPC-8000 Enclosure, including:
Enclosure Assembly and associated hardware
IP Communicator (IPC); pre-installed in the IPC-8000 enclosure
IPC to TB1 AC Power Cable Assembly, PN S40-00267
IPC to TB2 Cable Assembly, PN S40-00299
Additional required equipment and hardware for installation of the IPC-8000 shall be
determined by the Installer based on the placement of the Unit and the construction of
the wall material.
Appropriate Installation Instructions and Manuals as listed in Table 1.

Optional configurations:
When the IPC-8000 is configured with the optional RADIO-900M, the system
must be configured with either a UPS-901 or an external Backup Generator.
When the IPC-8000 is configured in an ACU-8411 configuration, the
maximum distance between the IPC-8000 enclosure and the ACU-8411 is 24
ft. (7.32 m); a 25 ft. cable is provided with the ACU-8411.
When the IPC-8000 is configured in an ACU-8411 configuration, DC backup
power for the IPC in the IPC-8000 is supplied from the SP40S; therefore an
optional UPS is not necessary.
