Bravo™ 8105 Preventive Maintenance Guide

Cooling Zone Heat Exchanger (Nitrogen Option) Cleaning
Introduction
Flux residues tend to accumulate on the heat exchanger. Obtain optimal cooling
by cleaning the heat exchangers on a monthly (170 — 340 hours of operation)
basis. It is recommended to stock a spare heat exchanger to replace the one
being cleaned if production needs limit cleaning opportunities.
Safety
To ensure personal safety and to avoid equipment damage observe the following.
Electrical Hazard
Failure to remove power to the machine before performing this procedure exposes
maintenance personnel to dangerous voltage levels. Do not touch live electrical
components inside the machine. Turn the Bravo™ 8105 System Off before
performing this procedure.
Procedure –
Disconnecting the
Coolant Hoses
1. Ensure that the power is turned Off and that the machine has cooled suffi-
ciently before accessing the machine.
2. Ensure that the nitrogen flow is turned Off.
3. Lift the cooling module hood to expose the inside of the cooling module.
4. Disconnect the coolant inlet and outlet hoses by pushing the quick disconnect
collars that secure them. Also remove the U–hose connecting the two (2)
zones.Refer to Figure 5–12.
5. Immediately insert a pressure relief tool (“dummy connector”) into one of the
two water connections on the heat exchanger to prevent pressure build—up
in the heat exchanger.
6. Remove the pressure relief tool.
7. Release the latches that secures the top of the chamber to the machine.
