Meaning
Work performed on appliances while preparing them for first-time use and taking them out of operation is
performed in special operating circumstances (e.g. with safety covers removed) or include activities that
require personnel to have relevant qualifications and appliance-specific knowledge that exceed the
requirements for operating personnel.
The measures and requirements specified in this section to ensure that the job of preparing the appli-
ance for first-time use is performed safely, also all apply similarly to the job of taking the appliance out of
operation.
Requirements to be met by commissioning staff
The following requirements must be met by commissioning staff:
Commissioning staff are employees of an authorized customer service company.
Commissioning staff have relevant training as a service engineer.
Commissioning staff have training specific to the appliance.
In particular, commissioning staff must be able to assess whether the electrical supplies have been
connected to the appliance in a correct professional manner.
Damaged power cable
A risk of electric shock from damaged power cable
The appliance's power cable may become damaged during transit.
Do not install or operate the appliance if its power cable is damaged.
Live parts
Risk of electric shock from live parts
When the cover is open, there is a risk of electric shock from touching live parts.
Before taking off the cover, disconnect the appliance from the power supply by removing the safety
plug on the mains power lead from the power socket.
Missing equipotential bonding
Risk of electric shock if equipotential bonding not installed
Electric shock can cause burns and ventricular fibrillation.
Fasten the hood on the combi steamer so that the hood is integrated into the combi steamer's
equipotential bonding grid.
Install the electrical connection in accordance with the corresponding country-specific and local
regulations and directives.
