Issue
Won’t Turn On/ Won’t Inflate (Power)
• Check the power switch on the motor and make
sure it’s in the “on” position.
• To inflate the unit, the user must press down & hold
the “up” button until desired inflation is achieved.
Not Staying Inflated (Leaks)
• Make sure the o-ring between the hose and the motor
is still in its groove. (The o-ring is a black rubber band
that resides at the top of the cylinder on the motor
that attaches to the hose).
• Replace the o-ring if it is stretched or frayed.
• Check for leaks:
– where hose connects to the air bladder
– where the hose connects to the motor
– at the vent at the bottom of motor
To check the bladder for leaks, manually hand check
seams or spritz with a spray bottle filled with slightly
soapy water (a bubble will start where the leak is
occurring.)
If there is a leak, contact our Contour Cares team at
800-950-0230.
Turn On/Off Randomly
• Other non-certified electrical products (lights, surge
protectors, tvs, etc.) can pull electricity from your
outlet & disrupt the performance of the Mattress
Genie.
Hose Keeps Detaching from Motor
• Check for tangles (a twisted hose can cause tension &
may cause the hose to unlock and cause leaks.
Disconnect and straighten hose out, then reattach.
Hose Tangled or Kinked
• To remove kinks & tangles, hold a hair dryer about 6” -
8” away from the hose for 15-20 seconds. Squeeze &
form the hose back into its circular form.
Won’t Deflate
• Make sure unit is turned on & you are holding down the
down button or clicked the flat button once. Pressing the
flat button again or pressing another button will cancel
the deflation.
• Plug your Mattress Genie into a dedicated wall outlet.
• Do NOT plug the Mattress Genie into surge protector
