Additional BIOS Features
9.1
BIOS Versions
The BIOS displays the BIOS project name and the revision code during POST, and on the main setup screen. The initial production BIOS for
conga-IC170 is identified as IVKLR1xx or IUKLR1xx, where:
•
R is the identifier for a BIOS ROM file,
•
1 is the so called feature number and
•
xx is the major and minor revision number.
The IVKL BIOS binary size is 16 MB. The IUKL BIOS binary size is 8 MB.
9.2
Updating the BIOS
OEMs often use BIOS updates to correct platform issues discovered after the board has been shipped or when new features are added to
the BIOS. The conga-IC170 uses a congatec/AMI AptioEFI firmware, which is stored in an onboard flash ROM chip and can be updated using
the congatec System Utility. The utility has five versions—UEFI shell, DOS based command line, Win32 command line, Win32 GUI, and Linux
version.
