Appendix
E
LED Indicators, Switches, and Jumpers
This appendix describes the following features of the Compaq ProLiant
ML350 Generation 2 server:
■
LEDs
There are several LEDs located on the front, the back, and the inside of
your server. These LEDs can communicate the current status of your
server components and operations, thus aiding you in diagnosing the
problem. You are provided with an illustration of the location of each
LED on your server, as well as an explanation of uses and possible
statuses in the following section.
■
Switches
There is one switchbank in your server. Some switch settings may need
to be changed from time to time and can cause problems if they are not
correctly set. Some switches should not be changed for any reason. You
are provided with a list of all switches, a description of what each
setting means, and an illustration of where each may be found inside
your server.
■
Jumpers
When devices are added to the server, the jumpers on the device may
need to be changed. You are provided with information on jumper
settings.
For troubleshooting information beyond the scope of this guide, both general
and specific to the ProLiant ML350 Generation 2 server, see
“Other Information Resources” in Appendix D, “Troubleshooting.”
