After all hard drives have been
installed and connected, press the
F8
key during startup to run the
Integrated ATA RAID
Configuration Utility and view the
setup screen. ROM will
automatically configure drives to
RAID 0 if the user does not run the
F8 utility.
If the user needs to turn off the
Integrated ATA RAID
Configuration Utility, they can do
so by right-clicking on the tray icon
and selecting
Quit Spy.
Turning off this utility will turn off
the ability for on-line spares to be
rebuilt in the event there is a drive
failure. The user will need to
power up the server and rebuilt in
the RAID Configuration Utility by
pressing the
F8
key.
To turn on the Integrated ATA
RAID Configuration Utility, power
up the system or log off the server
and then log back on.
Power-On Self-
Test (POST)
The POST is a series of
diagnostic tests that checks
firmware and assemblies to
ensure that the system is
properly functioning.
POST runs automatically on
Compaq servers when the system
is powered up.
