Glossary

A high jitter buffer reduces short interruptions during the call. In return the
delay of the RTP packages increases.

K

Keep-Alive

Data packets exchanged at regular intervals between two communication
partners to check whether the connection is still alive. If the packet or the
partner‘s reaction are missing, the other communication partner assumes
that the connection is interrupted and takes appropriate measures (e. g.
repeated connection attempt, timeout of the connection).

L

LAN

Local Area Network - connects computers over company or home networks.

LDAP

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol - enables you to query the data in a
directory service (a hierarchical database) over the network.
