Maintenance

Warning

Turn the machine off and disconnect the power plug

prior to beginning any maintenance operations.

5.1. Cleaning

Clean the hopper and machine surfaces daily using
a cloth dampened with water only.
Once a week remove the hopper and remove the oily
layer left by the coffee beans with a cloth dampened
only with water.
Once a week, use the locking band (A) to remove
the product conveyor hose to the packaging machine
and remove any coffee residue inside with com-
pressed air.

Warning

If the dirt is encrusted and difficult to remove, use

products suitable for cleaning machines for food pro-

cessing.

Clean the heat dissipation fan filter every six months
proceeding as follows.
- Unscrew the four Allen screws (A).
- Remove the fan cover (B) and clean the filter, re-

place it if necessary.

- Remount the cover securing it with the four Allen

screws.x

5.2. Display battery replacement

Watch the video

Warning

Disconnect the power plug and wait until the grinder

cools off.

For the following operations you need:

-  2 and 3 mm Allen keys;

-  wire cutters;

-  self-locking clamp;
-  battery type CR123A
When the symbol

 begins flashing on the display,

the battery needs to be replaced performing the op-
erations described below.

By Colombini

Unscrew the two Allen screws located on the display
panel (C).

Remove the display panel (2) and disconnect the con-
nector (D).

Cut the clamp (E) using the wire cutter and remove
the battery (F).
Replace the battery with a new type CR123A one.

Important

Replacement of the battery must be done in a time

less than 5 seconds to prevent the display from go-

ing off with consequent resetting of the data.

If the data on the display is lost, the operations pro-

vided in chapter 5.4 need to be performed.

Important

Be careful not to turn the wheel (6) during the bat-

tery replacement operations.

If the wheel is accidentally turned the operations

provided in chapter 5.4 need to be performed.

Once the battery replacement operation is complet-
ed it needs to be blocked in its support using a new
locking clamp.
-  insert the previously removed connector (D), in its
seat.
- mount the display panel (2) securing it with the
two previously removed Allen screws (C).

  Environment

Dispose of the flat battery at an appropriate waste dis-

posal site, in accordance with applicable legislation.

5.3. Disc replacement

Watch the video

Warning

Disconnect the power plug and wait until the grinder

cools off.

For the following operations you need:
-  2 and 3 mm Allen keys;
-  8 and 14 mm spanner.

Caution

The discs must always be replaced in pairs.

Use the micrometric adjustment wheel (6) and set
the disc distance to 0.200.

Unscrew the Allen screw and remove the wheel (6).

Unscrew the two Allen screws (A) located on the dis-

play panel (2).

Remove the display panel (2) and disconnect the

connector (B).

  Notes

The patented Colombini grinders have a duration

that can vary from 50 tonnes to 100 tonnes of prod-

uct (roasted coffee beans). This figure varies based

on the degree of coffee roasting and according to the

type of grain size selected for the grinding.

Unscrew the Allen screw (E) located on the front cap.

Remove the cap (F).

Remove the front guard (G).

Remove the power supply plug (H).

Unscrew and remove the four knobs (I) that secure
the discharge chute.

Remove the discharge chute (L).

Loosen the nut shown in figure (M).

With one hand hold the flange and completely un-
screw the previously loosened nut.

Remove the flange with the lower disc (N).

Carefully clean the seat of the three Allen screws
(O) and then unscrew them. Remove the lower disc.
Protection gloves should be used to avoid cuts.

Carefully clean the support surfaces (P). Mount the
new disc.

Even a minimum presence of coffee under the discs
may prevent the correct operation of the grinder.

Carefully clean the seat of the three Allen screws (Q).
Unscrew the three screws and remove the upper disc.

Clean the support surfaces well and then mount the
new upper disc.

  Environment

Dispose of the worn disc at an appropriate waste di-

sposal site, in accordance with applicable legislation.

For the correct reassembly perform the operations in
the inverse order.

5.4. Minimum disc distance regulation

Watch the video

This operation should be performed after each disc
replacement.
Operations to perform with the machine operating
(START button on and hopper lever in closed posi-
tion).
Slowly turn the wheel (6) clockwise to bring the disc
closer.
As soon as a slight friction sound can be heard due
to the two discs touching (upper and lower) release
the wheel (6).

Caution

Avoid letting the discs touch for a long time.

Using an object with a fine tip press button A (in-
dicated in the figure), for around 10 seconds; four
zeros will be shown on the display.

Slowly turn wheel (6) anticlockwise until 0.060 is
shown on the display to obtain a minimum safety
distance between the discs.
Using an object with a fine tip press button (A) for
ten seconds to return to the value 0.000.
Turn the wheel (6) anticlockwise until reaching the
desired value for the product to grind.

5.5. Fuses

There are 6 fuses inside the electric panel to protect
the electric and electronic components.
A sudden power surge or overheating of a motor or
component could burn out a fuse.
In this case it needs to be replaced with another with
the same amperage.

1)  INVERTER motor protection fuse (20A)
2)  INVERTER motor protection fuse (20A)
3)  24V auxiliary power supply protection fuse (2A)
4)  24V auxiliary power supply protection fuse (2A)
5) POWER ON white luminous light button pro-

tection fuse (1A)

6)  24V auxiliary circuit protection fuse (4A)
