The Main PCB is connected to other major components in the Press-Mate via the following connectors:
CN1 - Connects the Main PCB with the Display Board
CN2 - Connects the Main PCB with the Power Supply
CN3 - Connects the Main PCB with the Pump and Valve Assemblies
CN4 - Connects the Main PCB with the Printer
CN6 - Main PCB RS232 Connection
CN10 - Connects the Main PCB to the Alarm Buzzer

Display PCB
The display PCB contains all LED displays; including twelve 7-segment LED displays, clock display, battery
indicator LED, pulse level indicator LEDs, Start/Stop LED, Adult/Neonatal LEDs, and interval display. All front
panel switches states are read by signal input controllers U1 and U2 and output to the Main PCB microprocessor
via connector CN1. Data signal outputs are displayed on the LEDs and on the 2 character x 4-line LCD
connected via CN2 to the display PCB.

Power Supply PCB
The power supply PCB regulates the AC power source supplied through connector CN101 to the secondary side
of the transformer T1. Full wave rectification is provided by bridge rectifier D1. Relay RY1 completes the
circuit through power oscillator IC4 to the secondary of transformer T2, where +12V and -12V are provided
through the +12V regulator IC5 and -12V regulator IC6.
The +12V battery voltage is supplied through connector CN102. DC battery power is protected by three-amp
fuse F1. Battery operation is selected when AC power is no longer detected at connector CN101. Relay RY1
opens and +12 volts is supplied by the battery.

Safety Functions for Overpressure
There are three safeguards for protection against excessive cuff pressure. When the pressure exceeds 325
mmHg (220 mmHg Neonatal), the software generates an error C19 and deflates the cuff. Pressure above 400
mmHg (240 mmHg neonatal) switches the pump off and causes an electrical hardware reset of the monitor.
Pressures above 375 mmHg open a mechanical relief valve for rapid deflation. This information summarized in
the table below.
