Configure the receiver equalization setting

The input stage for each error detector channel includes a continuous-time linear equalizer

(CTLE) providing channel independent adjustable gain control. By changing the EQ boost

value for a channel, you can adjust the ratio of the gain at 14 GHz to the low-frequency gain of

the equalization, and the adjustment range is between 0 dB and 21 dB. The default setting for

the EQ boost is 0 dB for each channel.

There are two modes for the EQ boost: Automatic and Manual. With the automatic mode, the

system automatically determines the optimal value of the EQ boost. With the manual mode,

you have the flexibility to specify the EQ boost value based on your actual needs.

The response curve of the equalizer for the varying EQ boost values can be visually

represented with the following diagrams:

To specify the receiver equalization setting, take the following steps:

Click the EQ MODE drop-down list and then select the automatic mode or the manual
mode.

If you selected the manual mode, type an appropriate value in the EQ BOOST box.
The value you specify must be within the valid range.

To set to the minimum or maximum value allowed, click the arrow button

on the left side of the box and then select MIN or MAX, as shown below:
