3.2 Input and Output Specifications
3.2.1 General Purpose Inputs
The 1400 I/O Expansion Module extends the capabilities of supported In-Sight vision
sensors by providing seven independent, general-purpose inputs (INPUT 1 - INPUT 7) that
can be used to trigger sensor events. General purpose inputs are optically isolated and are
typically connected (directly or indirectly) to a sensor (such as a limit switch, pressure
switch, or temperature switch). See
Appendix C for common wiring configurations.

Note:
Since all inputs share a common ground (IN COMMON), all connected input devices
must be either current sinking or current sourcing.
