– Leave the motor running at idling speed for a while.
– Slowly press down on the throttle to increase the motor speed.
The clutch will be released when the motor speed is high enough, and the sawing chain will

– Make sure the chain is sufficiently lubricated (
Checking the chain greasing – p. 121).
– Check if the chain stops rotating when you release the throttle.
Turning off the motor

Notes on operation
Before use, familiarize yourself sufficiently with the sawing technique for chain saws. You will
find information about this in the trade literature. We recommend that you attend suitable train-
ing sessions. The notes here serve only as a complement!
Correct posture
Stand with both legs securely on the ground.
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
After the machine has started, slightly operate the throttle once to ensure that the
motor reaches the correct idling speed and the sawing chain cannot rotate without a
load.
When something isn’t working… – p. 124
Note:
With the choke handle pulled, pull the pull starter only until you hear a first ignition
sound. Otherwise, you may run the risk of fuel leaking into the combustion chamber,
which would prevent an ignition spark.
DANGER!
Risk of injury!
– Never work on unstable subsurfaces!
– Never work above shoulder height!
– Never work while standing on a ladder!
– Do not work bent too far forward!
– Only use the device under favourable weather and site conditions!
