• Avoid direct contact with parts that conduct
electricity.
Risk of poisoning
• Fuels are poisoning and may cause damage
to health in the event of long-term exposure.
• Petrol motors generate carbon monoxide.
Starting the motor or operating the device in
a closed space is not permitted.
• Maintain a minimum distance of at least 2
metres to buildings or connected appliances.
Risk of explosion
Fuels are flammable and explosive. Avoid the risk
of explosion and fire:
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
filling.
• Make sure that flammable materials or materials
that may explode are kept out of the immediate
vicinity.
• Protect the appliance from heavy impacts! If the
device has been subjected to impacts, always
check whether fuel is leaking.
• Check the fuel system regularly for leaks or
defective parts.
• Always switch the motor off before transporting,
refilling, cleaning or maintaining the device.
• Wipe away spilt fuel carefully and immediately.
• Make sure that the tank lid is closed fully after
refuelling. Fuel that sprays out may ignite.
Risk of injury

Damage to the unit and to the environment
• Pay attention to the maximum output of the
device.

• Only use the fuel approved for the device
( Fuel and lubricants to be used – Page 52 ).
• Check the fuel level before each use. If the fuel
level is too low, do not start the device. Top up
the fuel level first.
• Check the motor oil level before each use. If
the motor oil level is too low, do not start the
device. Top up the motor oil level first.
• Do not operate the device in parallel with a
second power generator.
Handling fuels
Fuels are flammable and explosive. Avoid the risk
of explosion and fire:
• Switch off the motor and allow to cool down
before refilling.
• Smoking and any other naked flame is forbidden
when handling fuels.
• Only store and mix fuels in authorised and
clearly labelled canisters.
• Keep fuels under lock and key. Fuels may vapor-
ise even at ambient temperatures and may col-
lect at floor level in closed rooms (risk of explo-
sion).
• Start the appliance at least nine metres away
from the place you tanked it.
Fuels are poisonous! They contain substances
that are immediately poisonous and which are
capable of causing damage over time. Observe
the safety precautions in order to prevent the
substances entering the body.
• Only refill the device or transfer fuel from one
canister to another out in the open or in a well
ventilated space.
• Do not breath in the fuel vapours.
• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
• When transferring fuel, use gloves.
• If fuel gets onto clothing, change clothes imme-
diately. Clean the clothing before you wear it
again.
• Store fuel out of the reach of children.
If used incorrectly, fuels may damage the envi-
ronment:
• Transfer fuels carefully. Fuel may not enter the
soil or the sewer system.
• Remaining fuels must be disposed of correctly.
Never dispose with the household waste.
• Fuels may only be stored for a short time. Only
purchase amounts that will be used within a few
months.
