Accelerator Pedal Height Adjustment

Adjust the accelerator rod.

See following DANGER.

DANGER

• Before servicing, turn the key switch to the OFF position and place the Forward/Reverse handle in

the NEUTRAL position.

• To prevent accidentally starting the vehicle, disconnect the battery cables as instructed.

See Disconnecting the Battery-Gasoline Vehicles on page 1-5.
This will prevent the possibility of the vehicle running over you when you are adjusting the accelerator
rod.

6.1.

Remove the electrical box screw and cover.

See preceding DANGER.

6.2.

Loosen the jam nuts (25) and disconnect the accelerator rod (17) at the accelerator pedal

(Figure 5-6,

Page 5-6)

. Adjust the length of the rod to obtain an accelerator cable cam position of 0° to 5° as shown

(Figure 5-18, Page 5-15)
