4.3.2 Cleaning the print head
Smudged or incomplete printouts may be caused by a dirty print head or ink ribbon. The
housing cover must remain closed during printing.

To clean the print head, proceed as follows:
• Open the housing cover by pressing the locking buttons on both sides and lifting the
cover.
• Unlock the print mechanism and lift it.
• Remove the ink ribbon.
• Remove residual label material or dirt with the help of a cotton swab dipped in pure
alcohol.
• Let the print head dry.
• Insert the ink ribbon again.
• Close the print mechanism. The locking buttons must audibly click into place.
• Close the housing cover.
NOTE: Avoid using dusty or dirty printmaterial since this will decrease the quality and
service life of the print head.
WARNING: Danger of burning from print head
The print mechanism can become hot during printing. Do not touch during operation and
let the printer cool down before changing materials or cleaning.
