ASSEMBLE AND ATTACH MIDDLE RAFTERS
Rafters are shipped in two sections and must
be assembled before they are attached to the
greenhouse.
Assistance may be required to attach rafters.
Align the pre-drilled holes in the rafter leg

with the holes of the angle brackets. Using
the screws that shipped with the rafter
sections, assemble the rafter. See diagrams
to the right.
NOTE:
When properly assembled, a space is present between the top ends of each rafter leg for the
ridge assembly, which is installed later.
Locate an assembled rafter and position it on the previously installed top plates. Align the center of the

rafter legs with the first set of marks. Allowing the end of the rafter leg to hang over the edge, drill and
countersink a hole for the rafter fastener using a 1/8" drill bit.
NOTE:
You must pre-drill and countersink the hole for the rafter fastener to prevent the rafter leg from
splitting.
DO NOT drill into the top of the top plate.
Verify the centers of the rafter legs are aligned with the previously measured marks. Using the pre-drilled

holes in the previous step and 2-1/2" FAS13 construction screws, secure the rafter legs to the top plate.
Select two (2) A-angle brackets (#104642) and attach one to the underside of each rafter leg on the

inside as shown below. Secure using 3/4" FAF25P Phillips head screws.
Repeat steps for all remaining rafters.
