3.2. Flat Surface Installation

The NetWall 6000 Series can be mounted on any appropriate stable, flat, level surface that can
safely support the weight of the appliance and its attached cables. However, the NetWall 6000
Series is designed to be rack mounted and operation on a flat surface should be avoided.
Operating on a flat surface should only be done for testing purposes and only for a limited
period of time. Rack mounting is described in

Section 3.3, “Rack Installation”

.

The NetWall 6000 Series can emit elevated levels of fan noise and caution should be taken to
protect hearing when spending time in proximity to the appliance if it is being operated on a flat
surface. It is not recommended to operate the unit outside of an acoustically isolated space.

Section 3.3, “Rack Installation”

.

Important: Always leave space around the appliance

Always ensure there is adequate space around the appliance for ventilation and for easy
access to switches and cable connectors.

No objects should be placed on top of the

casing.
