Description
This electronic transformer is intended to be used with
halogen lights and dimmer switches designed for use
with either mechanical or electronic transformers.
The transformer starts with reduced current (soft start)
which gradually increases to full power.
An electronic safety circuit turns the transformer off if
the secondary coil short-circuits or overheats or if the
transformer is used without any load. When the fault is
rectified the transformer starts automatically.
Installation
Please read the entire instruction manual before using
and save it for future reference.
This product conforms with Directive 89/336/EEC
regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility and to Low
Voltage Directive 73/23/EEC.
The product operates on 230 V~. The initial instal-
lation must be carried out by a qualified electrician ac-
cording to VDE standards and the safety regulations
of the respective country.
Things to consider during installation
-
The transformer must only be used with halogen
bulbs, adequate safety measures should be taken
during installation to avoid electric shock.
-
The transformer is only intended for indoor
use. Do not expose the transformer to extreme
moisture and/or heat (recommended operating
temperature - 20°C to +45°C)
-
The transformer has a built-in thermal
cut-out fuse which operates which
prevents overheating.
-
For the primary cable we recommend a
flat cable with PVC sleeve, conforming
to VDE 0281, with an area of at least
0.75 mm². The secondary cable (to
the halogen lights) should be 0.75-1.50
mm². To avoid RF interference the cables
connecting to the lights should not be
longer than 4 metres.
-
The load on the transformer must not
exceed or be less than 35 – 105 W.
-
Connect the lights to the electronic
transformer as shown in the diagram.
Primary and secondary cables must not
cross each other.
-
The transformer should be placed as close as
possible to the halogen lights but because the
lights give off heat, the transformer should be at
least 30 cm away. The transformer will get hot
therefore it should be mounted in a well ventilated
place.
-
The transformer is double insulated and thus has
no earth connection, only phase and neutral need
to be connected.
-
If the transformer is used in another way than
described in this manual or is connected
incorrectly the warranty will not be valid.

Follow local ordinances when disposing of this pro-
duct. If you are unsure about how to dispose of this
