Ceramic Hair Straightener

Safety
• Inspect the mains lead regularly for signs of damage.
• If the mains lead has been damaged, it must only be replaced by
the manufacturer, authorised service facility or qualified tradesman.
• The product is intended for indoor use only.
• Do not use the product in environments where aerosol sprays, oxygen or other
concentrated chemicals are used or stored.
• The ceramic plates will become very hot during use, so the product should be
used carefully.
• Never use the product if you have sensitive hair, an irritated scalp or if you are
overly sensitive to heat.
Product description
Information
• The hair straightener may smoke a little or emit a burning smell for a short while
the first time it is used. This is entirely normal and will cease after 1–2 minutes.
• We recommend that you use a heat protecting haircare product on your hair
before you begin to use the hair straightener.
• The hair straightener will shut off automatically after 60 minutes of non-use.
Care and maintenance
• Unplug the lead from the power point and let the hair straightener cool down
properly before cleaning.
• Clean the ceramic plates when you have used oils or other haircare products
in your hair. Clean the hair straightener using a cloth lightly moistened
with water. Never immerse the product in water or other liquid. Use only mild
cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals. Make sure that the hair
straightener is completely dry before using it or putting it away.
• Store the hair straightener in the box when it is not in use. Do not roll the mains
lead around the straightener. Loop it gently instead.
• Let the hair straightener cool completely before putting it into the box.
Warning:
Do not open the casing! The casing houses certain unshielded com-
ponents carrying dangerous voltages which if touched may give you
an electric shock.
• Do not use the hair straightener if you have sensitive hair, have an irritated
scalp, are oversensitive to heat or if you have wet hair.
• The hair straightener will still be connected to the electrical supply even when it
is switched off. Remember to unplug it after you have finished using it.
• Do not use the straightener on artificial hair, wigs, etc. Artificial hair could melt.
• This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be carried out by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the product and its mains lead out of reach of children under the age of 8.
• The product may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or persons with a lack of experience or knowledge which could
jeopardise their safety, provided they have been instructed in the safe operation
of the product and understand the hazards involved.
• Never let children play with the product.
• Make sure that the product is turned off before connecting it to a wall socket.
• The product must only be connected to an earthed wall socket.
• The product must only be repaired by qualified service technicians using
original spare parts.
• Always unplug the product from the wall socket after use.
• Never leave the product unattended when it is connected to an electrical socket.
• If the product has fallen into water or other liquid during use, do not touch it.
Unplug the product from the electrical socket immediately. Do not try to retrieve
the product from the water with your bare hands.
• Do not touch the product with wet hands.
• Only allow children to use the product when supervised by an adult.
• Never use the product if the mains lead, plug or any other part is damaged or
does not work properly or if you have dropped it on the floor.
• Do not use the mains lead to carry the product.
• Protect the mains lead from hot or sharp objects.

Never use the product while bathing, showering or in such as way that it
can fall into water or other liquid.
The ceramic plates will become very hot during use, so the hair straigh-
tener should be used carefully. Make sure that your hair is completely
dry before starting to use the product.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that the product should not be disposed of
with general household waste. This applies throughout the
entire EU. In order to prevent any harm to the environment or
health hazards caused by incorrect waste disposal, the product
must be handed in for recycling so that the material can be
disposed of in a responsible manner. When recycling your
product, take it to your local collection facility or contact the place
of purchase. They will ensure that the product is disposed of in
an environmentally sound manner.

Instructions for use
1. Make sure that your hands are dry and insert the plug into the wall socket.
2. Press [ on/off ] (4) to turn the hair straightener on. The display will flash red.
3. Press [ +/- ] (3) to select a temperature (230 °C is the default setting).
Select 155 °C when using the device for the first time. Hold the hair
straightener or lay it on a heatproof surface until it has warmed up and is ready
for use. When the desired temperature has been reached the indicator lights will
shine steadily.
4. Divide your hair into sections and use hair clips to keep it separated. Thick or
long hair may take a long time to be straightened.
5. Start at the top of the head and continue downwards. Make sure that
the ceramic plates are in motion the entire time and that they don’t remain still
and in the one place. Repeat until all your hair is done.
6. When you have finished, switch the hair straightener off using [ on/off ] and
unplug it from the wall socket.
7. Let the hair straightener cool completely before putting it away.
