Chapter 10 Change Node Settings

Before You Begin

Modifying and deleting protection groups can be service affecting.

Complete the

“DLP-H29 Log into CTC” task on page 16-43

. If you are already logged in, continue with

“NTP-H102 Back Up the Database” procedure on page 14-2

Step 3

For the ONS 15310-MA SDH, perform any of the following tasks as needed:

•

DLP-H245 Modify a 1:1 Protection Group for the ONS 15310-MA SDH, page 18-50

•

DLP-H137 Modify a 1+1 Protection Group, page 17-41

•

DLP-H138 Delete a Protection Group, page 17-41

Note

1:1 protection groups are created automatically and can only be deleted when the protect card of
a 1:1 protection group is deleted.

Step 4

Complete the

“NTP-H102 Back Up the Database” procedure on page 14-2

.

Stop. You have completed this procedure.

NTP-H82 Change Node Timing

Caution

Internal timing is Stratum 3 and not intended for permanent use. All ONS 15310-MA SDH nodes should
be timed to a Stratum 2 or better primary reference source.

If you need to verify timing after removing a node from a path protection configuration, see the

“NTP-H102 Back Up the Database” procedure on page 14-2
