To start or stop a configured bit error rate test (BERT) on a T3 controller or channel group, use the
bert t3
command in EXEC mode.
bert t3 interface-path-id [error]

Syntax Description
Physical interface or virtual interface.
Use the
show interfaces
command to see a list of all interfaces currently
configured on the router.

(Optional) Injects errors into the running BERT stream.
error
Starts the BERT on the T3 controller or channel.
start
Stops the BERT on the T3 controller or channel.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes appropriate task
IDs. If the user group assignment is preventing you from using a command, contact your AAA administrator
for assistance.

interface-path-id
argument, use the following guidelines:

If specifying a physical interface, the naming notation is
rack

slot
/
module

port
. The slash between values
is required as part of the notation. An explanation of each component of the naming notation is as follows:

: Chassis number of the rack.
◦
slot
: Physical slot number of the line card.
◦
module
: Module number. A physical layer interface module (PLIM) is always 0.
◦
port
: Physical port number of the interface.
