5.03 Optional Wire Feeder Setup MIG (GMAW) Welding with Gas Shielded MIG
Wire
When using a Gas Shielded wire with the 4RX Wire Feeder, you need to have an external gas source attached
to the 4RX.
For most Gas Shielded wire, connect the Work Lead to the negative - terminal on the front of the 355i and
connect the Welding Power Cable from the back of the 4RX to the po terminal on the front of the 355i.
Check with wire manufacturer for recommended polarity.
NOTE!
The Transmig 355i Remote Plant Part No W1003510 comes supplied with an 8m Interconnection Lead.
There are three option length Interconnection Leads available for the 4RX Wirefeeder refer to Optional Accessories Table
2-2 on Page 2-7.
Connect the Interconnection cable assembly from the rear of the 4RX wirefeeder to the the front of the 355i
welding power source.
Connect the MIG Torch to the front of the 4RX as you would to the front of the 355i Power Source. Refer to
Section 5.06.
The R/L setting in ADVANCED FEATURES should be set to 10P (10pin) for the power source. See 4.03.
Setting for the Internal Switch located in the Power Source Wire Drive compartment is in the <1> Local / 4RX
/ Spool Gun position.
NOTE!
Transmig 4RX wire feeder does not automatically recall the ACTUAL programmed data set as Analogue Pot is applied.
Remote pots will recall data from where ever the pot is set to within that range.
