Edge Size refers to the width or
SHADOW
(in scanlines)
or the distance of an OFFSET of the edge of the font.
To set Edge Size:
• In the EDGE SIZE field, enter a new Edge Size from
1
to
90
using the Address Keypad, then press or
cursor to the next field.
If 0 is entered as an Edge Size, the value is accepted, but
the Edge Type defaults to No Edge after conversion.
This change is reflected when the Font List is displayed
in Message Compose (§6.7). If a number higher than
90
is entered, the Edge Size defaults to 90 .
Font Size/Edge Size Relationship: The total size of the
font must take into account both the Font and Edge Size:
• [Font Size + (2 X Edge Size)] must be less than or
equal to 1000.
For example: If you are converting an edgeless font, the
maximum Font Size can be
1000 . If you are converting a
bordered font with Edge Size =
10
, the value entered in
the Font Size field can be no larger than [ 1000 - ( 2 X

In the Options window, you can change the source drive
where a Master Font is located; the destination drive/
directory where the newly created Machine Font will be
stored; the Character Placement Table assigned to the
Machine Font; and the X Scale Factor (width) and sharp-
ness of the Machine Font characters.
