Using an external splitter: As an alternative to daisy-chaining video, or to support larger video
walls, an external video splitter (not included) can be used.
For example, to create a video wall incorporating 24 displays using DVI, consider using a 1-to-4 DVI
splitter and daisy-chaining displays in 4 groups, each group with 6 displays.
The example below shows a 3x3 matrix (9 displays):
Connecting RS-232/Ethernet Controller
Video Wall Setup in Landscape Orientation
To connect an RS-232 or Ethernet controller to a video wall in landscape orientation, it is
recommended you connect the controller to the top left or bottom left display in the wall. From
there connect the remaining displays as shown in the example 3x3 matrices below.
It is not recommended that more than 10 displays be daisy-chained together using the RS485 input
and outputs. Above 10 displays, consider breaking the video wall into several groups of 10 displays
or less, and using separate RS-232 or Ethernet connections to control each group.
Video Wall Setup in Portrait Orientation
To connect a RS-232 controller to a video wall in portrait orientation, it is recommended you
connect the controller to the top left or top right display in the wall. From there connect the
remaining displays as shown in the example 3x3 matrices below.
