Corner Photosensors Alignment

The corner photosensors watch as a ﬂatwork

piece is brought into the machine and turn off

when the trailing edge of the ﬂatwork clears

them.

These are retroreﬂective sensors, which means

their proper operation depends on them being

properly aligned with their reﬂectors.

If these sensors are out of alignment, the

ﬂatwork will not be stopped in the clutch/brake

rollers and will drop to the ﬂoor.

Required Tools

7/16” wrench, thin slotted screwdriver

Perform only when the unit is OFF

with power connected.

Use extreme caution.

Turn power ON at the main disconnect

switch.

Press the green start button.

Press any of the red Safety STOP but-

tons.

Look at the red and green LEDs on the cor-

ner photosensors (Figure 7-53, A). They

should all be steadily lit and positioned

directly below the reﬂectors (B).

If they are not, try pressing in lightly on the

front portion of the photosensors to make

a minor positioning adjustment.

If necessary, loosen the sensor retaining

bolts (Figure 7-53, C) to make minor

individual adjustments.

Check the sensor LEDs again per Steps 4

and 5. Make any further adjustments.

Re-start the unit and test the adjustment by

processing several pieces of ﬂatwork.
