Transfer Belt Replacement
Replace a transfer belt when it can no longer
be properly tensioned or if it becomes excessively
worn, cracked or frayed.
Required Tools
1/2”, 9/16”, 3/8” wrenches, scissors/
kinfe, plastic wire ties
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Open the appropriate endframe door.
Locate the appropriate transfer belt tension
adjustment bolts in the center section of
the machine (Figure 7-19, A).
Loosen the locknuts (Figure 7-19, B) and
turn each bolt the same number of turns
counterclockwise to relax tension on the
belt.
Locate the bracket assembly which se-
cures the two sections of the belt (Figure
7-20, A) and cut the plastic wire ties which
secure the ends (B).

Loosen the bracket bolts which secure the
belt and remove the bracket assembly.
Remove the belt from the machine and
discard.
Route the new around the timed drive
pulley in the appropriate endframe and
around the appropriate timed idler pulley
in the center of the unit.
Secure each end of the new replacement
belt by reversing Steps 5 and 6.
Make sure the “teeth” of each segment
are properly oriented. If necessary,
refer to Figure 7-20.
Manually pull the belt as tight as you
can before completely tightening the
bracket bolts.
The belt ends should extend 1 to 3”
(25 to 75 mm) beyond the edges of
the bracket.
Secure the ends with plastic wire ties
pulled very snug. These keep the ends
of the belt from interfering with proper
operation.
Follow the Transfer Spreader Belt Ten-
sion Adjustment procedure earlier in this
section.
Close and secure the endframe door.
