IMPORTANT: When rem oving tra n sm issio n ,
keep rea r of c a se low er than the front so a s not to
lo s e the con verter. In stall con verter holding tool
(J-5384) when tr a n sm issio n is rem oved from the
v e h ic le .
14. Move tr a n sm issio n a sse m b ly from the
engine, low er the a sse m b ly ca refu lly and move it
out from the v e h ic le .
INSTALLATION

ation of tra n sm issio n . With tr a n sm issio n assem b ly
mounted on tr a n sm issio n jack m ove tra n sm issio n
into p osition aligning con verter with fle x plate
(fig s. 1 and 2). Check for and clean away any fo r
eign m aterial in flyw h eel pilot hole and flyw heel
fle x -p la te a ssem b ly and front fa ce of tra n sm issio n
c a s e . Rotate flyw heel ring gear, a s n e c e ssa r y , so
that the three bolt h oles in fle x p late a re aligned
with bolt h oles in con verter carefu lly m ove tran s
m issio n a ssem b ly toward engine so fle x -p la te -to -
con verter b olts can be lo o se ly in sta lle d and so
that pilot on tr a n sm issio n con verter en ters pilot
