CErviCAL TrACTiON TrEATmENT prOCEdurE
1. Make sure the table is locked in the closed position before
getting the patient on the table (turn the lock/unlock
handle). The table should remain locked in the closed
position for cervical traction treatment.
2. Install the Cervical Traction Accessory (CTA) as instructed in
the Nomenclature section.
3. Adjust the angle of the Cervical Traction Mechanism by
squeezing the lever at the cervical end of the table. Release
the lever to lock the Cervical Traction Mechanism at the
desired angle. Recommendation is 15° for most situations,
but the mechanism is infinitely adjustable up to 30°.
4. Open the adjustable neck wedges to their widest position
and position the patient supine with head on head pad and
neck wedges in mid-neck area. Tighten the neck wedges
until they fit snug against the side of the neck. The neck
wedges will self adjust and seat themselves just inferior to
the occiput as treatment is applied. If desired the patient can
manually rotate the neck wedges.
5. Position and tighten the headstrap with vinyl cover so
that it is snug but comfortable.
