Always turn off the main power when the plastic cover of the thermostat is removed.

•

Read carefully the information included in this manual before install for operation the thermostat.

•

The used power is the main power of 230Volts AC/50Hz and the installation should be done by authorized person.

•

Avoid places of high humidity for the installation.

•

Do not try to use the thermostat for other applications except those that is made to be used i.e. central heating/ cooling.

•

This thermostat is not an instrument. It must not be used in life critical applications.

Features

•

The sensitivity of the thermostat depends on the ability to display in the temperature spectrum of +5°C to +35°C.

•

Adjustable from +5°C to +35°C.

•

Adjustable high and low temperature limits (for hotels, offices, schools etc.).

•

Switch selectable Day or Night operation.

•

Displays “Lo” and “Hi” indication when temperature reaches the lower or the upper limit.

•

Temperature can be adjusted in steps of 0.1°C.

•

The accuracy is within ±1.5°C.

•

Memory is available in case power failure.

•

Contains light indicators for “SET”, “NIGHT OPERATION”, “ON”, and “ORDER” conditions.

•

Incorporates variable differential and sensed temperature trimming function (for installers only).

Installation

Install the thermostat always in an inside wall in a height of 1.2m to 1.5m from the floor and away of corners, room places affected of heat
generating appliances, air vents or places directly exposed to sunlight. All above reasons may affect the correct thermostat operation.

1.  Turn OFF the power of the heating/ cooling system.
2.  Remove the plastic cover of the thermostat simply by pressing the two anchors in both lateral sides.
3.  Place thermostat against the wall at desired location. Make sure the wires will feed through opening on its base.
4.  Mark the position of mounting holes and drill them.
5.  Secure and align the thermostat in the wall by fixing the two screws. Do not over tighten the screws.
6.  Connect the appropriate wires to cable terminal strip as shown in the wiring diagram.
7.  Replace the plastic cover.

8.

Switch ON the power of the heating system.

Operation

The MP-N room thermostat has two separate operation modes for night and day respectively. Thus two different setpoints can be selected.
The switch between them can be done by pressing a toggling button. For instance it is possible to select 20°C for day and 18°C for night
operation. Pressing the button named “NIGHT/DAY” the desired operation mode can be reached. When in “NIGHT” mode the yellow
indication lights on. The yellow indication remains off while the “DAY” mode is selected. Once the installation is accomplished the
thermostat operates as a digital thermometer. Press the “ON/OFF” button. A green indicator  lights on. Repressing the same as above
“ON/OFF” button the thermostat goes OFF. Adjustment of  the desired temperature when thermostat is ON is made by pressing either the
button signed with

 or

symbols. The green colored indicator flashes and the display shows the desired temperature. The MP-N

thermostat incorporates two different temperature setpoints for day and night operation. Depending to the present mode user can adjust the
respective setpoint accordingly.  Once the desired temperature is set up correctly the thermostat affects the heating or cooling system in
order to maintain the temperature as close as possible into the setting. When the room temperature differs from the desired the red indicator
lights on and the electrical contact is closed. When the desired room temperature is reached the red indicator is switched off and the
electrical contact opens.
The thermostat has a factory preprogrammed differential of -0.6°C which is well suited for home heating applications. The temperature
differential can be adjusted from –0.1°C to –1.0°C. Differential adjustments must be done exclusively from authorized personnel. Incorrect
adjustment has serious danger and may affect the correct operation as well as the stability of the system. For the same reason take care when
performing trimming to improve sensed temperature accuracy. This adjustment is also allowed to experienced installers only. Refer to
Charmeg for detailed trimming procedures.
