4.2 Advanced operation guide

 Press the soft key [Insert Point]. Edit the frequency points and amplitude values that need to be corrected.
Input the amplitude correction value corresponding to each point recorded in Step 4 and press the soft
key of [Insert Point] to add the next correction point. 100 independent correction points can be input to
the Series Signal/Spectrum Analyzer. Every serial number corresponds to a frequency point and the
amplitude value to be corrected.
 In case of any error of input data, press the [Delete Point] to remove the input data, and press [Insert
Point] to continue the input process of correction points.

and [Save Cor...]. The corrected data can be saved in the hard disk by cor as the file
extension.
Step 8. Application of amplitude correction data:
 Press 【 Amplitude/Y Axis 】 , [More 1/2 ▶ ], [Ampl Cor ▶ ] and [Cur Correction On Off] to close the
amplitude correction data. The amplitude correction data is invalid.

 After the amplitude correction value is entered, disconnect the Series Signal Analyzer and signal
generator, and connect the measurement signals by the same cables. Press
【 Amplitude/Y Axis 】 , [More
1/2 ▶ ], [Ampl Cor ▶ ] and [Load Correction] , and select the correct amplitude correction file to press OK
on file dialog box, and then select [Cur Correction On Off] to call the saved amplitude correction data,
for the track amplitude correction in the frequency range defined by the data correction.
Step 9. Application condition of amplitude correction
Errors may be caused in the following circumstances in the process of amplitude correction:
 Track data is above or below the values of grid coordinates.
If there is any point of track data not corrected above or below the grid line of the Series Signal Analyzer, the
amplitude correction function will not be able to correct the values at the point. The amplitude accuracy of the
analyzer is uncertain if the track data are above or below the values of grid coordinates. In order to avoid such
mistake, make sure the track data are in the grid area of the analyzer prior to the application of amplitude
correction data.

Correction measurement near the bottom of the display grid lines;
If the coordinate scale of 10dB/grid, and the measurement signals are at the bottom of the grid are, the
logarithmic distortion of the Series Signal Analyzer will result in the errors of amplitude correction.
 Flatness correction and temperature drift.
If the temperature plays a decisive role in the flatness changes, the correction is invalid.
4.2.9 Time gate measurement
4.2.9.1 Definition of time gate
This section will introduce some basic concepts related to the time gate, to help you to more reasonably set
relevant parameters of Series Signal Analyzer during the measurement of time gate.
Under some circumstances, it is hardly to analyze the pulse RF signal, time-division multiplexing signal, time
division multiple access (TDMA) signal or intermittent signal without the Series Signal Analyzer of time gate
function. For example, there are two wireless communication signals #1 and #2 as shown in Fig. 4.40, where
the same channel is used for the time division, and it takes 1 ms for each communication channel. How to
separately analyze the frequency spectrum for each transmitter?
