Autoclave - cleaning and maintenance
Never put the lid or base in water. To clean the device, wipe it down with a damp cloth inside and out.
Before cleaning/ disinfecting disconnect the power cable. Only clean or disinfect the device when it is
cooled down.
For the disinfection of the surface of the outer metal hull disinfectants containing the following
substances as suitable:
•
ethanol
•
propyl alcohol
•
isopropyl alcohol
•
glutaraldehyde
•
quaternary ammonium compounds
Please follow the application instructions by the manufacturer of the cleaning agent and the disinfectant.
Using tap water can result in discoloration and calcification, which can decrease the control accuracy. The
pressure control valve nozzle should be cleaned regularly with a needle. Plastic surfaces shall be cleaned
with a dry cloth
To remove extensive discoloration and calcification, run a full cycle (approx. 10 min.) with water and citric
acid, followed by a full cycle wit h distilled water (without load). Therefore, we recommend using distilled
water.
Repairs on valves, safety features and electric must only be carried out by an appointed CertoClav partner
or by the manufacturer. Use original CertoClav spare parts only.
Every two years the device should be checked by an appointed retailer or CertoClav.
