HELIX TEST - BOWIE & DICK TEST
Using the appropriate, commercially available process simulators it is possible to check
steam penetration in narrow lumen bodies.
Narrow lumen bodies are to be intended as deep cavity Medical devices such as turbines
for dentists, probes, etc. (see EN 13060 Standards, “Small Steam Sterilizers”).
Carefully follow the operating instructions indicated by the manufacturer of the process
simulator.
Using the same
Helix Test - Bowie & Dick test
it is possible to check steam penetration
by means of the Bowie & Dick test pack.
Carefully follow the operating instructions indicated by the manufacturers of the
commercially available process simulators.
NOTE:
the B&D process simulators used shall comply with the EN 867-5 Standards
reproducing a textile load not exceeding 2 Kg which is the equivalent of the maximum
sterilizer capacity; for further information see the EN ISO 17665 Standards.
It is suggested to periodically check the proper operation of the appliance with the
appropriate process simulators (chemical and/or biological) to ensure correct
sterilization.
AIR LEAKAGE TEST
The Air Leakage test must be carried out to check chamber tightness during the vacuum
phases.
During this test the appliance controls the vacuum phase for 10 minutes and automatically
checks for potential air leaks.
If the test complies with all established parameters, at the end the writing CYCLE
COMPLETED will appear on the display.
On the contrary, the corresponding alarm will be displayed and, in that case, it is suggested
to clean the door seal with a cotton wad soaked in alcohol and repeat the test. Should the
alarm be repeated, please contact Service.
For correct testing, the Air Leakage test must be carried out when the appliance is cold and
as the first cycle of the day, therefore carry out the cycle as soon as the appliance is
switched ON, without waiting for it to warm up.
It is suggested to periodically check the proper operation of the appliance; the EN
ISO 17665 Standards suggest the Air Leakage test be carried out every day.
WARNING: THE TEST CYCLES ARE USED ONLY IN ORDER TO CHECK THE
APPLIANCE OPERATION,
FOR STERILIZATION USE ONLY PROPER CYCLES
