4. Remove the cable from the machine and check it to see at what point on the
cable, in reference to the top side mark, the blade cut the deepest. The wire
guide must be moved in the exact opposite direction of the deepest point of the
cut.
5. As an example, Figure 3-17 below represents a cable inserted into the Model 75
as viewed from the wire clamp end of the machine. The cable is marked at the
location shown. The dotted
line represents the “cut.” In this example, the cut is
centered nicely in the “Y” direction, but is off a considerable amount in the “X”
direction
. As indicated in the drawing, the “X” adjustment screw should be turned
in the counter-clockwise (CCW) direction to correct this situation.

6. It is important to note that, in the above example, adjustment was required in only
one direction. There may be occasions when changes to both the “X” and “Y”
adjustments need to be made.

Performing the Centering Adjustments
To perform centering adjustments, please read and follow these steps carefully.
Note
: Steps 1
–4 below “memorize” the current centering location and must be
performed prior to making any centering adjustments.
1.
Using the smaller hex key wrench supplied with the Model 75, verify that the “X”
locking screw is tight. See Figure 3-
8 for the location of the “X” locking screw.
