7.3 Changing the Merlin LT network settings
To integrate the Merlin LT into an existing vessel infrastructure of IMUs, GNSS receivers and bathymetric sensors
correctly, it is possible that the Merlin LT IP address will need to be changed from the factory-set value.
To change the IP address of the Merlin LT, follow the procedures in this section.
7.3.1 Connecting to the Merlin LT
Start the Merlin diagnostic tool software. The Merlin diagnostic tool main window appears.
The Laser section in the bottom left-hand corner of the window contains the IP address and Port text entry boxes
for the Merlin LT laser. These automatically populate with the default (or last saved) values. Check these values
are the current known values of the Merlin LT.
The
Status: Disconnected
message is displayed.
Press
Connect
to connect to the Merlin LT laser.
The
Status: Connecting
message is displayed.
Note: communication may take up to two minutes to initialise.
Once connected successfully, the
Status: Idle
message is displayed: see Figure 30.
