Acquiring a 3D Single-Volume Image for Adult and Pediatric Patients

  ACQUIRING IMAGES

Preparing and Positioning Adult and Pediatric Patients

To prepare and position the patient, follow these steps:

1. Ask the patient to remove all metal objects.

2. Ask the patient to wear a lead apron with a thyroid collar. Ensure that the apron lays 

flat across the patient’s shoulders.

3. Ask the patient to enter the unit. On the 

Control Panel

, press and hold 

 to adjust 

the unit to the height of the patient.

4. Ask the patient to do the following: 

•

Stand up straight or sit on a stool.

•

Grip the lower handle on each side.

•

Position their feet slightly forward.

•

Relax their shoulders for full motion of the unit rotative arm.

5. Position the patient: 

•

Ask the patient to open their mouth. 

•

Ask the patient to bite gently and naturally into the bite block without joining the 
incisors.

•

Center the upper incisors with the bite block.
