SAM (Service Access Management) Key for Service Mode Login on
PRISMAsync Servers
The PRISMAsync System Software V8.3 requires a SAM Key to enter service
mode. The SAM Key replaces the service operator password used on previous
versions of the PRISMAsync Print Server.
The use of the SAM Key addresses increased security concerns and
certification requirements for customers that require control of authentication
constraints for all PRISMAsync users.
The SAM Key provides a consistent method to login as a service operator to
multiple products (with supported PRISMAsync Print Server System Software)
using a single SAM Key. Additionally, applications such as ADAM, and
encrypted documentation can be supported by the same SAM Key.
Training is required to attain a SAM Key License. Refer to the Service Training
Solutions section of the

Each authorized service technician must obtain their own SAM Key.

The SAM Key license must be certified every 60 days to maintain use of
the SAM key.
