Batch separation
You can enable batch separation to be performed when a
blank page or a patch code sheet is detected.
IMPORTANT
The following two settings must be configured to enable batch
separation.
• Select the [Enable] check box for [Counter] in the Custom File
Name Settings screen
• Set [Auto file name] to [Custom] in the Send Settings screen
• Batch separation settings
When [Blank Page] is selected and a blank page is
detected among the scanned documents, that blank page
triggers automatic batch separation (i.e., automatic file
separation), allowing you to create multi-page files.
When [Patchcode] is selected and a patch code is
detected among the scanned documents, batch separation
is performed. For details,

When [Specified Pages] is selected, batch separation is
performed after the specified number of pages.
• Patchcode Orientation
Configure this when [Batch separation settings] is set to
[Patchcode].
Configure this according to the orientation of the patch
code sheet you intend to place the in the feed tray.
Hint
Configure [Patchcode Orientation] as follows according to the
patch code inserted in the document.
• Record the paper separated file
Configure this when [Batch separation settings] is set to
[Patchcode].
When [ON] is selected, the patch code sheet’s image is
scanned and saved, regardless of the patch code pattern.
