Has an ink tank run out of ink, or are some of
the nozzles on the print head clogged?
Broken characters or characters printed with the wrong
colour can be caused by an ink tank running out of ink or
clogged nozzles on the print head. First, print a nozzle
check pattern to check the condition of the ink tanks and
the print head.

Are the ink tanks inserted into the correct
slots?
Check the label and make sure that the ink tanks are
inserted into the correct slots.
If any ink tanks are inserted in the wrong slots, follow the
procedure below.
1 Insert the ink tanks into the correct slots.
2 Clean the print head.
3 Print a nozzle check pattern and make sure that the
nozzles for each ink tank are printing correctly.
• If any of the patterns are not correct, repeat Steps 2
and 3 until the problem is corrected.
• Confirming the ink level in the ink tanks
• Printing a nozzle check pattern
• Cleaning the print head
• Replacing ink tanks
For missing or broken
colours, print head
cleaning
recommended.
