Replacing the Toner Cartridge
To replace the toner cartridge, follow the procedure described below.

Toner cartridges are consumable products. When a cartridge is almost out of toner,
the messages described in the list below will be displayed. Take proper action
depending on the message.

When printed text is faded or uneven, even if the message

almost out of toner. In this case, you should replace the cartridge. Do not
continue to use the cartridge when there is a reduction in print quality.
NOTE

The life spans of the EP-86 cartridges for this printer are as follows. These are based on
printing typical word processing documents that have about 5% page coverage with the
print density adjusted to the factory default. The life span of the cartridge varies
depending on the color, as this may differ depending on the image to be printed.
- EP-86 cartridge (Black): about 13,000 pages of A4-size paper
- EP-86 cartridge (Magenta, Yellow and Cyan): about 12,000 pages of A4-size paper.
