Ethernet connection
For Ethernet connections, the imagePRESS Server supports Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cabling for certain network
speeds.
The following network speeds are supported:

To connect to the network

Power off the printer and the imagePRESS Server (see
Control power to the imagePRESS Server
on page 100).

Connect the cable from the network to the network port (RJ-45) on the imagePRESS Server (see
on page 20).
Important:
If you are concerned about information being extracted from the imagePRESS Server Ethernet
port without authorization, consider securing the Ethernet port.

Power on the printer.
Note:
The printer must be on before you start the imagePRESS Server.

Power on the imagePRESS Server by moving the power switch to the ON position and then pressing the power
button.

Important:
When the imagePRESS Server is in use, do not connect or disconnect the network cable
connected to the printer or disable the network functions.
