SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer

Optical Image Stabilizer corrects camera

By compressing video twice as efficiently as conven-
tional methods, the AVCHD standard enables High
Definition video to be recorded on a hard disk drive.
Instant AF
Focus is critical with high resolution
HD video, and Canon’s next-generation Instant AF
technology delivers fast, accurate focus even in
challenging situations. Using an advanced hybrid
control system, Instant AF provides quick, sharp
focus even when shooting at night, in high brightness,
and when following a moving subject.

3.1 Megapixel still shots onto a miniSD card. If a
great shot happens while you’re shooting video, sim-
ply press the photo button to record a 2.0 Megapixel
image. With the new Photo Grabbing feature, you
can also “grab” a 2.0 Megapixel still from your
footage just by pressing a button in playback. Other
high-end still camera features include: 9-point AiAF
that sharply focuses even off-center subjects, a
built-in flash for superior shots indoors and in low
light, Histogram Display to give you the brightness
information you need to make adjustments on suc-
cessive shots, and one-touch printing and down-
loading of your images with a Print & Share button.
24p Cinema Mode and
Program AE Mode
24p Cinema Mode ramps up your
creativity, allowing you to achieve a professional film-
like look. Two flexible modes can be used together
or independently. The first lets you match the frame
rate of movie film by setting the camcorder’s frame
rate to 24p. The second is the HG10’s CINE setting,
which adjusts the color and tonal characteristics to
evoke the look and feel of a big-screen movie theater
film. Convenient preset scene modes in Program AE
automatically produce the best exposure for Portrait,
Sports, Night, Snow, Beach, Sunset, Spotlight and
Fireworks.
