Description
Ratio control
Define the flash output level when using wireless
(multi-flash) shooting or the MR-14EX II.
●
The [Built-in flash settings] screen cannot be accessed when an
external flash is attached.
●
On the screen, the settable functions and the display will differ
depending on the Speedlite, current flash mode, flash Custom
Function settings, etc. For details on your Speedlite’s flash
functions, refer to the instruction manual of the Speedlite (sold
separately).
●
With an EX-series Speedlite not compatible with flash function
settings, only [Flash Exp. Comp] can be adjusted. ([Shutter
synchronization] can also be set with certain EX-series
Speedlites.)
Setting External Flash Custom Functions
For details on the Speedlite’s Custom Functions, refer to the instruction
manual of the Speedlite (sold separately).

Press the [

Option
Description
Flash zoom
(Flash coverage)
With Speedlites that have a zooming flash head,
you can set the flash coverage. Normally, set this
to [AUTO] so that the camera will automatically
set the flash coverage to match the lens focal
length.
Shutter
synchronization
Change the timing of the flash and shutter
release as follows.
●
[
] will fire the flash immediately after the
shutter opens.
●
[
] will fire the flash immediately before
the second curtain closes. If the shutter
speed is 1/30 second or faster, first-curtain
synchronization will be used automatically
even if [Second-curtain synchronization] is
set.
●
[
] allows you to use the flash at all shutter
speeds. This is especially effective for
portraits using fill flash when you want to give
priority to the aperture setting.
Flash Exp. Comp
This allows you to adjust exposure
compensation when the flash fires. For details,
refer to the instruction manual for the flash. If
flash exposure compensation is defined on the
Speedlite, you cannot set it on the camera side.
If it is defined on both the camera and flash, the
flash’s setting overrides the camera’s.
Flash output
level
Define the power output of the flash. For details,
refer to the instruction manual for the flash. If it is
defined on both the camera and flash, the flash
setting overrides the camera setting.
Flash exposure
bracketing
Activates FEB (Flash Exposure Bracketing),
taking three shots while automatically changing
the flash output. For details, refer to the
instruction manual of your FEB-compatible flash.
Flash count,
Flash frequency
Defines the flash count and frequency when
[Flash Mode] is set to [MULTI].
