5.3.1.7 Leading Edge Registration
Adjustment (Fine Adjustment)

In the case that the customer needs the adjustment
with high accuracy, perform the following step.
The leading edge registration adjustment (fine
adjustment) is executed to the following 3 occasions.
- Document tray pickup (single side)
- Document tray pickup (the 1st side)
- Document tray pickup (the 2nd side)
When executing this adjustment, use the service
mode.
The adjustment value is stored in the DADF
controller PCB.
A. Document Tray Pickup (single side)
1) Set either one A4 document or LTR document [1]
on the document tray and execute copy.

2) Compare the document and the print image to
check that displacement of the leading edge
registration is 1 mm or less [A].
If the displacement is 1 mm or more, perform the
following step.

3) Display the service mode (FEEDER > ADJUST >
STRD-S) and change the setting according to the
displacement.
This setting adjusts the value of the leading edge
registration for the document tray pickup.
- Setting range: -7 to 7
- 1 unit: 0.5 mm
When the value is set larger, the margin is made
smaller. When the value is set smaller, the margin
is made larger.
