1) Detach the left cover.

1) Detach the connector cover [1].

2) Disconnect the connector [1] and free the 2 flat cables [2].

3) Detach the cover [1] in the direction of the arrow.

4) Remove the laser scanner unit [1].

Points to note when removing the scanner unit
When removing the scanner unit, hold the front side of the scanner unit [1];
then pull it out while holding it up.

Points to note when mounting the laser scanner unit
After removing or when mounting the laser scanner unit, hold the front and
left sides of the laser scanner unit. Holding the right side may cause displace-
ment of the reflecting mirror, leading to color registration.

When mounting the laser scanner unit, insert the boss [1] of the scanner unit
into the hole [2] of the host machine; then, check to see that there is no loose-
ness.
